My 1st experience in Charleston...

A solid breakfast @ Hominy Grill was on the top of my list... Nominated by everyone including pseudo boyfriends of awesome friends back home, and every single publication I read planning my first trip; well I just had to stop by. Upon walking in I was a bit lost, the South is polar opposite of the Pacific NW. greeted by a waitress she knew I was a pilgrim in well what could be considered the "holy land, of biscuits and gravy". The menu was sparse and maybe as healthy as a food cart doused in butter, I asked what the difference in biscuits were. Standard and high rise were the options... and while high rise might sound bigger and better it was actually less for more, and in every good way possible. The gravy was a shot of cholesterol to the soul and maybe the best thing I have digested since Indian food at Vig's in Vancouver BC. This was my view outside of my Facebook updates, and well one hell of a way to start my trip...
